The Kewaunee School District approved Mrs. Lindsey Hudson as the new Kewaunee High School principal for the 24-25 school year at the June 17th board meeting. Mrs. Hudson has been in education for 18 years. Lindsey grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Munising. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education with a double minor in English and Mathematics from Northern Michigan University. During her time at KSD, she also obtained a master’s degree in Reading and Reading Specialist and recently finished her coursework for certification as a Principal and Director of Instruction licensure. Mrs. Hudson began her career in Kewaunee in 2006 as an at-risk teacher for grades 5-10, Mrs. Hudson has held a variety of teaching and leadership roles in the Kewaunee School District over the past 18 years and we are very excited to have Mrs. Hudson in her new role at KSD.
Mrs. Hudson believes her various roles in education in the Kewaunee School District has afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of staff members, students, families and community members to attain a common goal to improve educational practices for our students. She strives to ensure that all students have support to be successful, she believes that all students can learn given a positive and safe environment, accessible content and positive adult connections. Collaboration, communication and consistency are keys to student success.
Mrs. Hudson and her husband, James, have two children, Lily and Noah who are students at KHS. She enjoys the outdoors spending time with friends and family, traveling and watching sports. She stated she is very excited to continue her dedication to the KSD students, families and staff in her new role as High School Principal.
